Get to Know the Staff of New Hope High School

Harold “Bud” Seifert - Principal
Welcome to New Hope High School. It has been my privilege to be principal of NHHS since January 2007; previously I was an English teacher and administrator at Leander High School for over nine years.

My undergraduate background was largely math and engineering, and I studied management, English, and educational administration at the graduate level. I have taught high school, college, and adult learners.

At New Hope our goals are to help all of our students to complete their high school education and to assist them in transitioning successfully into the next phase of their lives.
Mona Parrish - Counselor
I am very fortunate to be a part of NHHS family and look forward to working with you this year.

I began working for LISD in 1992 as a math teacher at LHS and have been a counselor with Leander ISD since 1997.

I am married to an Austin Firefighter and have three great young kids. My oldest two children are twins, a girl and a boy, and another daughter who is a year younger than them. When I am at home, I enjoy gardening, watching movies, and doing things with my family and friends. Some of my favorite TV shows are American Idol, Numbers, Medium and my absolutely “can’t miss this show”… was ER. Now I'll have to resort to watching ER reruns.

I love working with the NHHS staff and working with all our NHHS students. I will do all that I can to assist you in meeting your goal to become a high school graduate and moving on into training for a career.
Laura Bauer - Administrative Associate, Registrar
I have been with Leander I.S.D. since 1999. I worked at Leander High School until 2003 then changed jobs to New Hope High School and have decided that I have the best job ever.

I have been married for thirty years and have three children, all who have attended Leander schools from kindergarten to graduation.

My favorite TV shows are Grey’s Anatomy, Numbers and all of the CSI shows. My favorite type of movies is romantic comedies. Over the past few years it seems that I have become an animal rescue center. We have four dogs, one step-dog along with two (rather large) pigs, and a few cats.

I absolutely love working with my church youth group. Some other things I enjoy are gardening, sewing, camping, fishing and most water sports.
Mary Bauer-Administrative Associate, Attendance Clerk
I work part time at New Hope as the Attendance Clerk, usually 10 am- 2pm.
Rick Blakeney - Teacher
I am extremely blessed to be able to teach at New Hope High School. I have been a Math teacher since 1994. I have taught for LISD at New Hope High School since spring of 2004. I graduated from Southwest Texas State University in 1992 with a degree in Mathematics.

I am married and have a son and 3 daughters. My interests are my Christian faith, family, church, sports, talk radio, Math, writing, gravy, and fast food.
Robbin Colley - Teacher
Hi! I teach Science, Social Studies, and Elective courses here at New Hope High School. I am a graduate of Texas Tech University. (Go Red Raiders!)

I have a husband, a daughter, and a dog so life has been very good to me. I love to exercise and stay in shape. In fact, I work out almost every day. My hobbies are SCUBA diving, photography, and scrap booking. I look forward to working with all of my students this year!
Tommie Hart-Dunlap - Teacher
Hello, and congratulations for choosing to further your education by earning a high school diploma. I teach English to seniors who are determined to graduate, and, if you are one of them, I will do everything I can to help you achieve your goal of graduation.

I have a number of passions and teaching in this school is one of them. I love the students, I love the material, and I love the opportunity to help. Outside of school, I am busy rearing my daughter who still lives at home and working in my church where I teach Sunday school, sing in the choir, and play the flute. Additionally, I chase my whippet through the neighborhood and keep hoping a horse will grow up under the saddle I keep.

Again, welcome. I look forward to working with you.
Dianna Woods - Teacher
I have been with Leander ISD since 2005. I have a B.A. in English from the University of Puget Sound, a M.A. in Education from the University of California at Santa Cruz, and a M.Ed. in Educational Leadership from Texas State University San Marcos. I served with the U.S. Army Reserves from 2000 - 2008 and was deployed to Iraq in 2003 as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

I am a member of the Women's Competitive Rowing team at Texas Rowing Center and row three times a week. Additionally, I am an avid reader, enjoy rock climbing, walking and biking. I have traveled in the United States, Europe, Australia and the Middle East. I hope to travel to India and Germany in the near future.
